I have a basement project ahead of me! The plan is to dig, insulate, and pour new flooring with waterborne underfloor heating. I have now done a trial dig close to the exterior and interior wall and realize that the wall ends about 150 mm below the existing floor. The house stands on the ground without a foundation (?!) I want to dig 400 mm and have 100 mm gravel, 200 cellpast, 100 mm concrete. My question is how to "secure" the walls while I dig. Would it work to place vertical props near the wall and horizontal props across the room??

Know a family in the area who did that. He dug out the basement. Then dug under the wall about 50cm at a time and cast a new foundation wall. The entire project with total excavation of the basement and new foundation wall took about 3 years. After 3 years, he was ready to pour new basement floors. The evening before the concrete truck was supposed to come, the wife got tired and moved out.
a bit tragicomic that...=) But I don't want to lower the floor; I want to cast the floor at the same height. Just want to work safely while digging.
