Different thickness of mosaic and tiles
Hello,
We have purchased mosaic for the shower corner and tiles for the rest of the bathroom floor. They are completely different in thickness, so I’m wondering if anyone has tips on how to best get them to the same level at the seam?

You simply apply different thicknesses of adhesive/mortar on the different areas. Or press down the mosaic/tiles with different pressure right at the joint so that you achieve a smooth transition.
There are also notched trowels that provide different heights for the adhesive/mortar.

Moreover, the extra collars in the wet room system add extra thickness at the floor drain, so there is an advantage to using thinner tiles there.
Thank you so much for the tip!
I have 32.5x32.5 large tiles that are 10 mm thick, and the mosaic is only 2-3 mm thick. I have a 10 mm notched trowel for the tiles.
I have now simply filled up in the shower corner with adhesive for the tiles. It felt excessive to need a 12 mm notched trowel for the mosaic to reach the right height :S

hello don't use a larger notched trowel... the adhesive will definitely fill the entire joint and then you'll have h....vete when you grout later... do this instead.. lay the entire floor except where you want the mosaic the next day you level the local slope with adhesive so you end up about 4-5mm from the top edge of the tile then place the mosaic when the adhesive has dried.. for best results do it this way!!!!
