Are there different qualities for OSB boards? In my storage, I have two very different types of 11 mm thick OSB board.

One type is made up of long wood chips. It has a rather uneven surface, and when you drill or saw through it, it splinters significantly on the backside.

The other type is made up of smaller wood chips, has a dense, flat surface, and looks much nicer after drilling or sawing.

Type two is much nicer to work with, but unfortunately, I only have small pieces left, so I see no info about the manufacturer.

Can type two be a contifinish board? It has a smooth, slightly more moisture-resistant surface compared to the regular OSB.

No, I don't think so. I popped into a builder's merchant and felt an OSB Contifinish, and it was like type one.

Osb can be totally different in the same batch, some brittle like crispbread and some more like plywood.
