As a rookie, I would be very grateful if someone has knowledge (and can recommend) a website or similar where there is a step-by-step description of how to build/expand a house or cottage.
It would be absolutely superb if it is described with pictures and where details such as bärlinor, hammarband, and such are described.
I'm considering doing an extension but plan to outsource most of it, but I really want to know what needs to be done.

http://www.gds.se/ had a series about a Danish guy who expanded his house about 2 years ago. If you buy a subscription, you will get access to their articles online and can dig up that article series. That article series describes quite exactly what you're asking for.
