Demolition of load-bearing wall in apartment
Hello,
I am planning to open up between the kitchen and living room, which is a load-bearing wall. The apartment is at the top of the building and is an end unit. Is there a possibility to install a steel beam without it being visible? That is, that it is recessed/embedded in some way?
If anyone has connections with companies that have previous experience with load-bearing constructions in the Stockholm area, I would greatly appreciate your tips.
I understand that approval and a building permit are needed for the work.
Thank you in advance.

The only way to install a load-bearing beam invisibly, regardless of the material, is to embed it in the floor structure. This usually means that intersecting joists need to be cut. It's particularly difficult with steel because it can't be easily screwed. Whether it is realistic at all depends on the actual conditions. A better description is needed in order to assess it.
