Hello!
I'm considering tearing down a siporex wall in a small bedroom in my condominium apartment that faces out towards an attic. It's on the top floor with a slanted roof. The current living area is about 4.5 sqm, with an additional 1.0 sqm of floor space, meaning it's a small room. But if I tear down the siporex wall and build a drywall next to a dormer, I free up 2 sqm of floor space. The wall that needs to be built corresponds to about 2 sqm.

I wonder if anyone can advise on the building regulations that apply, such as fire safety and materials.
Is such a change notifiable to the building department, and is it considered a significant change?

Welcome to the forum!

At least raising a dormer window is likely to require a building permit.

How does the association feel about you wanting to expand your living area?
It does lead to some costs and work for them.

Are there such small residences?

Thank you for your response.
What costs and work for the association are you thinking about?

You get more living space and should therefore pay a larger share of the association's costs, i.e., your share number should be increased and the association must take care of that, just as it requires some work from them to handle the sale of a part of the attic.
