Working on fixing the laundry room in the old boiler room, which has an uninsulated slab that I'm preparing for tiles (from old plastic flooring). I have arranged for air supply and there will be mechanical exhaust (soon) in the room, which is just over 8 sqm. I have been considering a dehumidifier, partly to get the laundry to dry faster but also to "kill" any moisture that comes up through the floor... Then I started wondering if a dehumidifier might cause more moisture migration inward? Dryer air in the room should "pull in" more moisture through the concrete, I think...
Under the slab is sand (like beach sand).
