Hello!

I am going to build a deck on the second floor.

I would like to have as few columns as possible from the deck down to the ground. The house is 11 meters long. Does anyone know what dimension and type of beam should be used to manage with 3 columns? Should the columns also be made of beams?

Does anyone know? :)

I think you need a drawing to be able to answer!

Hello!

It is a terrace on the second floor and it will be 11 meters long and 2 meters wide. The idea is to try to have only 3 pillars on the outer edge to support the entire structure. I'm not quite sure how to attach a drawing. Is this also the answer to the span?

Best regards

This gives you a span of 6.5 m

How do you calculate that?

Is fairly convinced that a balcony requires a building permit and that proper construction drawings performed by a qualified constructor are needed to grant such a permit.

The building permit is already approved without any construction drawings.

They are nice in Götaland :)
But do you have any building manager with (Building E) that is standard...to get a building permit...

Regards

It's myself.....

No one knows?

Doesn't work unfortunately.
Wrong load case.

Can't you bolt together two pieces of 45x195 studs to be able to increase the post spacing?

NO!

You must have a structural engineer to calculate this.
Don't come up with any shortcuts.
There are many parameters to consider: live load, dead weight, span, beam type, and safety class, among others.
