Hello,

I need your help with a question I have.

We tore down a ceiling on the upper floor, and the boards above didn't look very nice.

Why do they look so dark? Have they been outside for a long time and then been taken care of and ended up in my ceiling? Many boards are short, and the boards have different widths.

Above is tar paper and insulation.

The house itself is a mishmash of various timber and materials that presumably no one has paid for. Many houses in the village have various materials from the nearest factory.

What do you think?
What should I do? Should I sand down the ceiling? I've tried, and not much happens.

I'm going to commute down and set up a new ceiling.

  • A wooden ceiling with dark, weathered planks of varying widths, showing signs of age and wear, with a wall partially plastered below.
  • Dark wooden ceiling with uneven, varied-width planks in an attic, showing signs of wear and discoloration, possibly from prolonged exposure.
  • Dark wooden ceiling boards with varying widths and an uneven finish, next to a partially stripped wall and a window frame in a renovation setting.

Used timber has been used. No problem. Just go ahead as you planned.

Finally someone responds 😱
Yes, I have secured it with extra screws since many boards were loose.
Thanks for the help!
