Hello.

I'm currently working on the bathroom. I've now torn up and removed an old cast iron. I see that there is actually plastic against the basement ceiling. Now that it's a bathroom, there will be two moisture barriers. This has worked for 35 years; is there any reason I should worry if I don't remove the plastic? The plastic isn't as thick as I usually perceive it to be. I will support part of the floor with a makeshift beam since I had to cut it up a couple of cm from one beam, meaning the floor on that side is hanging 40cm in the air.

Could this new beam have an impact so that I might need to remove the plastic, perhaps?
