Cutting a wide ceiling molding with a miter saw. Brain freeze
Hi. Hope someone has a good tip on how to cut the ceiling moldings.
The problem is that they are wide, too wide for my miter saw. So I can't stand the molding up as it should be in the ceiling. In other words, I have to lay it down, but no matter how hard I try, I get the wrong angle every time. It feels like I've tried every possible variant but it just goes wrong. It feels like I've got complete permafrost in my brain.
I need to tilt the saw blade + set the angle. Like 30-degree tilt, 12.5-degree angle
Anyone know?

If you lay the molding down with the wall surface of the molding facing down, you should tilt the saw blade 45 degrees. No other angle. Then you can test where the cut lands at the bottom and make a mark to get a reference for where the length of the molding lands.
It does not specify what type of cornice you have. See this thread about cove molding. The guide on compound angles should be usable regardless, to solve your problems with two angles on the miter saw.
