Hello.
I have ordered a rubber mat for a workbench and am wondering if anyone has a good idea on how to divide it into smaller parts?
Cutting with a knife hardly seems feasible with a tough, thick rubber mat?
Tips on how to secure it are also gratefully received? Screwing or gluing with some kind of 2-component adhesive?
Best regards /H

What I've seen is to either place a spacer underneath and above, like clamping the carpet between two battens and then cutting with a utility knife. Or just lay the carpet on plywood or similar and use a metal ruler or batten and then cut repeatedly with a utility knife.
A jigsaw would probably make a rather rough edge?

With a strong blade, it should work pretty well (if you're careful). However, I would have used the plunge saw.tensiden said:

I have cut a 12 mm stall mat with a good utility knife. You have to make several cuts, and with a little oil, the blade doesn't bind against the rubber mat. It helps if you place the mat on a board and cut along the edge, as this opens up the cut, and you can also cut through the mat once you have gotten that far.
That's exactly how I did it, it was like cutting through butter!!Z z_bumbi said:
So a sharp utility knife (like Stanley Fatmax or similar) cuts a hard rubber mat without problems (if anyone else has the same concerns)
