Cut reinforced concrete pillar

I am going to cut a reinforced concrete pillar and am considering using an angle grinder with a diamond blade. Or is there a smarter alternative? It doesn't need to be precise cuts.

Can the diamond blade handle both concrete and reinforcement?

It is fine to cut the plinth with a diamond blade.

Keep in mind that you need to protect the reinforcement after cutting the pillar, otherwise it will rust and ruin the pillar.
