Planning to raise the ceiling height a bit in my storage on the garage, the trusses are free-spanning 9m.

What do you think about this?

Image A shows my modification, Beam A is a 45*95, Beam B is a 45*170.

My idea is where the red is to lay a 45*170 on top of B then cut out the tie beam B 100mm (Green) so that 70mm remains in height.

Then where the yellow is, a 45*170 will be screwed onto the existing 45*95 so the wall is straight. Everything will be nailed together with nail plates and screwed where it fits.

  • An attic space showing structural modifications with beams labeled A and B, alongside metal plates, tools, and a shelf stocked with various items.
  • Wooden attic structure with support beams and ceiling joists. Boxes and storage items are stacked beneath angled beams. Potential renovation site for height adjustment.
