Hello,

I am about to embark on building a trellis as a privacy screen for my patio. To make it a bit more complicated, I have decided that I want to have a rounded corner at the angle (about 150 degrees) that will be in the middle of the trellis.

I will have vertical slats, so it is thus the nail/screw rules (which should be 45mm thick) that need to be bent.

My idea is to achieve the bend by gluing together thinner strips of wood and using the already placed posts as a "form" (saw it done in an episode of "Strömsö"). I expect to need to use strips that are max 6-7 mm thick to be able to bend them without cracking.

Now to the question. What wood should be used? The recommendation usually is that posts and nail rules in fences should be done in treated wood. The question is whether it’s possible to glue pressure-treated wood... It might work to use regular wood and then oil it thoroughly.

Feedback on the overall strategy is also gratefully received.
