I am trying to set up a chair rail on my wainscoting in a transition from the stairs, but the chair rail becomes too high on the part that comes from above. Can some kind person tell me how to do it?
Baseboard transition issue at staircase landing, with wallpapered wall showing mismatched angle on chair rail molding.

You must gera both lists.

Thank you so much!!!! Of course, that's how it is. The staff in my brain had logged out and gone home; they blamed the Corona furloughs. I'll try with two rough lists as a template :-)

Exactly, you have to cut both. Take an angle finder and place it against the panel to get the angle, then divide the angle by two to get the angle on both moldings.

Or lay the lists overlapping and mark where they meet on the top and bottom, so you get the right angle to cut. Sketch illustrating how to overlap and mark boards for correct cutting angles.

Precis, du måste gera båda. Ta en smygvinkel och lägg mot panelen för att få ut vinkeln, sen delar du vinkeln med två så för du ut vinkeln på båda listerna.
Thank you so much for the response. I succeeded with the molding but haven't been able to find my way back to the thread until now.
