Hi,
During a renovation of our 70s house, we replaced the old wooden floorboards with grooved chipboards into which we (the plumber) installed underfloor heating.
Everything works very well in terms of heating, but unfortunately, we have an annoying creaking sound in a few spots...
The floor is supported with a 400mm distance between the floor joists (which easily meet the level difference requirements) and with no significant deflection.
On the floor joists, there are glued and screwed 22mm chipboards with milled grooves for the underfloor heating and in these lie plates with heating pipes, and on top of this, there is Kährs Tuplex and single-strip oak parquet.
The problem is an irritating creaking sound when we walk on the floor, and we feel that it has gotten worse since it was completed last summer. The sound is not a creaking sound from the parquet or wood on wood, but rather a squeaking/rubbing sound from either the underfloor heating plate moving up and down in the groove or the pipe moving in the plate.
Has anyone else had the same problem?
In the entrance, there is gypsum board glued with adhesive on top of the chipboards, and the plates are also screwed with mounting screws, and there is no creaking sound at all...
Best regards, Tobias

Being completely sure is difficult, but it doesn't sound like creaking wooden floors usually do...
Under the parquet, there is Kährs tuplex (plastic with a lot of small polystyrene balls glued), this was what the floor seller recommended and said was "standard" when parquet floors are laid on underfloor heating.

Hello, after a couple of years, how did it go, did you manage to fix the squeaking?T Tobyone said:Hello,

The floor is raised with 400mm between the floor joists (which more than meets the requirements for level difference) and without any noticeable flex.

In the entrance, there is floor gypsum that is glued with fix on top of the chipboards, and the plates are also screwed with assembly screws, and there is no squeaking at all...
Sincerely, Tobias
