Hi,
We have purchased a house and have some questions about cracks in prefab concrete elements.
These cracks are located in the basement level and are relatively deep, not just superficial as far as I can see. In several places, they run from ceiling to floor. However, I don't think they have gone all the way through as it is not damp anywhere.
An inspection of these cracks was done when the house was 2 years old (by the house manufacturer) and according to the seller, they have not grown/spread. The house manufacturer claims they are dry cracks.
The construction is (from inside to outside): Concrete, insulation, concrete, and flooring.
I cannot check the outside due to it being underground. On the other sides of the house, I don't see anything exterior.
If the cracks have not grown over these approximately 7 years, should everything be okay?
Worst case scenario? The wall caves in? (it is not load-bearing though).
Grateful for a quick response.
