Have installed plasterboard directly on old wood/board ceiling in a wooden house. However, the beveled and plastered short ends are cracking. I believe this is because the house is shifting.
Do you need to install plasterboards on studs?
Is it sensible to carve a large groove in the short ends to fit a paper strip there? Any other tips? Right now I am considering leaving it as is since I have done the whole plastering procedure 3 times. I don't want to carve again when the result is always the same.
