Hi, I'm planning to buy a house with a large concrete staircase that runs along one side of the facade. It is about 4 meters long, and at the end, there is a cast staircase down to the ground. I want to remove this massive structure. (There are two entrances, and this one leads to the old part of the house that is not used today). I want to remove it because we are going to do new drainage, and it doesn't fit into the plans we have for the house.

Can concrete be split like stone? I assume it is reinforced, so maybe you have to cut through it with some water-cooled variant? Has anyone done something similar and can give me tips or a price on what it might cost?

A hefty hammer and bolt cutter for the rebar work well. Otherwise, you can also cut it into pieces, just as you said.
