I have just received about 600 running meters of pressure-treated wood for our future terrace. The thing is that the terrace might not be finished now in June. Is there any risk in leaving the wood on our gravel driveway, or should I cover the wood? Does a regular tarp work?
Covering it is probably unnecessary (luxurious).
But it does benefit from some airiness, meaning not directly on the ground and some shavings in the timber bundle, e.g., in every other timber layer.
ps, did you get a circular saw and jigsaw ...

Cover it if it will be lying around for a few weeks. The sun quickly dries out the outermost layers of the timber, which means they will start to warp, and you will curse when you then have to screw in dry, stubborn decking wood. A light tarp doesn't cost many kronor. Decking wood should not be dried and aired out before it is put in place.

I can only confirm what Mikael wrote. I missed covering the timber I bought which has now been lying for a couple of weeks in the sun and when I laid a few boards, I noticed that the 120mm boards from the top layer are about 5mm narrower than the layer below.
