Cover concrete wall with plasterboard - Why?

Hello. I bought a brick house from 1958. The guy I bought it from had just completely renovated the place to sell it, which of course was then renovated "as nicely as possible at the cheapest price" with shortcuts and low-budget materials. All the exterior walls have painted concrete on the inside. There is one exception - There is a drywall panel on the concrete with underlying moisture protection/plastic. Should one be concerned about this exception, that moisture/damage or something else is hidden behind the drywall, or is this a "normal construction technique"? This particular wall is on the lower floor. In other words - Should I tear open the entire drywall just to make sure there’s nothing suspicious behind it? Regards, Andreas

Is it wooden or metal studs?

I wouldn't have wanted wooden studs between plastic and concrete wall..
