No, in my humble opinion, the best (and least dust-inducing) way is to try to take down the duct in one piece. It may require a bit of breaking to get the end that's attached to the chimney stack loose, but you can spray water on the pipe before you start. The end that goes through the bathroom wall you cut off by making a round cut in the wall around the pipe with a reciprocating saw or something similar. Then you pull the pipe out completely.
