Yes, it's time to build a garage.

I've made a drawing with dimensions 8.40 x 5.60.
Fits well here.

It will be cast on pillars.
But two questions.

1. It says the distance between the pillars should be 120. How bad is it if I have about 180 instead?

2. How do you handle the corner pillars? I have beam holders that are U-shaped, but two beams can't meet in the corner in such a holder. Should you press down two holders in the corner pillars, perpendicular to each other? Or how is it usually done?

Are you planning to build a garage with a wooden framework???

No, no floor.

So... I'm casting my own posts in paper tubes. Then I place beam holders. But these are U-shaped.
In the corners, two beams meet, and it's not possible to have both beams rest on a beam holder at the same time. So... how do you usually handle corners? Do you put two U-shaped holders at right angles to each other, or are there beam holders made for corner posts?

And what about the distance between the posts? Is 180 cm okay?
 
But you are supposed to have vertical posts.
 
Are you building a carport and wondering if you can attach 2 joist hangers to the corner posts to attach beams to which you will then nail the wall?
 
I still don't understand what you mean.
As you linked in post 3, there is no floor.
Then you place foundations with vertical posts.
Then you build walls with the help of the posts.

I don't really follow either, to be honest, so I'd like to start from the beginning.

You want to build a garage.
Do you want to be able to heat it or should it be strictly a cold garage?
If you want to heat it in a reasonable way, you can't build it on plinths.
 
The garage is not supposed to be heated and there is no "floor" in the garage. But it is not a carport either since it doesn't have any "open" walls. I have seen two garages built exactly like this, i.e., the sill rests in the post shoes and the posts then rest on the sill. Then there are nailers on the outside and walls on them.
 
But why should you have a sill on a building without a floor?
 
I think I'm starting to understand, but have you considered adding a rim beam along the outer edges instead?
As I see it, firstly, you would get a sealed bottom, and if you place a layer or two of leca on a cast rim beam, you would have just obtained a great surface to nail a sill on.
It's not a problem to make roof trusses that can handle 8 meters free-spanning either, and with a rim beam underneath, it would carry without any problem.
 
wanegardh: I actually don't know. I've looked at two garages at my neighbors'. Neither of them has a floor, but both are built with sills resting on piers.

Mats: I'm considering having a part as a storage area and casting an edge beam between the piers when they're in place, or alternatively just using leca blocks between them to make it tight. That's how it was done on one of the garages I looked at. The other had nothing between the piers.
 
Additionally, I would like the doors (two) on the long sides, as this picture shows:

This means that the distance between two posts will be approximately 2.60 there. How do you handle the two trusses that won't be supported by any of the posts? I'm thinking of a "taksyll" standing on edge that runs between the posts on which the trusses rest. The posts are made of two glued/bolted 45x95s, and I'll cut one of the 45 x 45s so that it ends, for example, 170 cm (or what dimension is sufficient?) below the other. The "taksyll" rests on it. Does that work?
