I have a large brick grill that I want to convert into a pizza oven.
It's too high, so I plan to lay a row of leca blocks at the bottom and fireproof stone to fire on. The chimney is too wide at the bottom. I would like to build up at the top and make a smaller opening so I can direct the fire to flow above the pizza. What is the easiest way to do this, masonry or some sheet material?
How do you get adhesion on the sides if you were to do masonry?

  • Inside view of a soot-covered chimney with brick walls, showing signs of use and wear, and a light source at the top.
  • Interior of a used brick oven or fireplace with soot-covered bricks and metal elements, showing accumulated ash and dirt.
  • Outdoor brick pizza oven with rustic wooden beams, showing ash and soot inside.
Tear down the old grill, admin, feel free to remove this thread.
