Hi,
We are looking at a house with land that we want to convert into a small horse farm. On the plot, there is an old assembly hall that is on piers. Would it be possible to remove the floor and the piers in the middle, reinforce along the outer walls to initially use this as an open stable and later possibly lay a concrete slab in the middle and build a stable with stalls later on? Or just try to sell the house and build our own stable?
Does it work structurally, or do the floor beams absorb a lot of the forces from the walls?
The building is about 20x8m, and the idea is that 8x8m would be used for the open stable initially and then 12x8m for the stable when it is built. In the remaining 8x8m, there is currently a kitchen, toilet, and plans to add a washing machine or two
