Hi, I am going to build a new deck at the cabin, I have torn down the old deck. The deck connects to a veranda, and I discovered a problem when I dismantled the old deck. One of the corner posts of the veranda is resting only on a small wooden block. How should I best stabilize this? I am considering placing a new pier and post next to the old pier and leaving the old one in place.
