How do you technically prevent wasp nests when installing cladding with battens? I just tore down the old cladding and it was crawling with old nests, both regular wasps and hornets.
I plan to use a standing seam cladding with an air gap behind.

Insect screens at all openings.
But it is difficult to keep wasps out. They don't need much of an opening. Knot holes, or eventually if some boards twist or warp, hooks, etc., it can create gaps.
Normally they can't cause much damage. Rodents are significantly worse.
