I'm going to build a partition wall, meaning a wall that extends straight out from another wall, using 34mm tongue and groove planks. I need some kind of post construction at the outer end and I'm considering how to do it.
I have an idea to carve a groove into a 90x90 laminated post. Can that work and hold or is it overambitious? Alternatively, build a U-shape from structural timber (glue/screw?)?
How should I best attach the post construction to the concrete floor and the roof truss? Angle brackets, beam shoes, or something else?
The construction must withstand a horse kick - think sledgehammer full force
Anyone have tips and ideas?

A standing HEA beam or U-profile perhaps, not so pretty but strong.
Otherwise, all your suggestions are useful.
The "problem" I can see is wood against concrete, which is not often the best solution from a moisture perspective.
The fastening feels like an angle iron with the support under the post, then it is not visible. the same against the ceiling.
