Hello!

I'm in the process of reconstructing an older log house that was previously dismantled and transported to our property.

The idea is that the house — which will be used as a guesthouse — will have two floors, i.e., a ground floor and an upper floor/loft with sleeping spaces.

The house area measures about 6 x 4.8 meters, and I would like to build the upper floor without having visible supporting pillars on the ground floor.

How would you ensure structural integrity while still maintaining as much ceiling height as possible, given that the house is almost 5 meters wide? I am considering a framework with elements of some form of laminated wood or steel beam(s) as a potential solution.
