Hi, I need help, this is not my strong suit. We're thinking of starting the fence construction down towards the pond now that the little guy is starting to run around the yard. The idea is that it will consist of large posts about 120 cm high, 50 wide, and between them the actual fence, but also with a, how should I say, small base at the bottom against the ground under the entire fence section to the next post. The whole thing stands on a natural stone wall.
How do I attach the post to the granite? Can I just drill down some rebar? Cast a cube, maybe 20 high, with a little extra reinforcement. Then build the post as a hollow wooden box that I fit over the cement cube? Risk of rot? Risk of pests settling in the box itself?
Anyone with tips on how or how I should do this?

Hmm, they did look good. I'm thinking that cement retains moisture, so that might be better. Then you don't have to cast, and you could start by attaching the lower part of the post to three or four L-brackets and then fill with slightly larger natural stones a couple of decimeters?
