Hello!
How do you connect a stove to the chimney when there's an insert pipe in it (see image)?
My thought was to try to "seal" the insulation and attach a pipe flange as usual at the entrance, is that correct?
Image 1 shows how it looks in the flue and image 2 the hole for connecting the stove.
Regards, Kristofer

No one has any ideas?:)

Buy an L-shaped steel smoke pipe/adapter. Make sure it can be inserted into the stainless steel liner pipe by about 10-20 cm. Seal by tightly packing with fiberglass rope for the purpose. Then, mortar the adapter in place. You will probably need to make a larger hole in the chimney breast to be able to do the work.

If you can get a bottom cone for the liner pipe, it should otherwise be possible to mount one from underneath, even though normally you would attach the cone first and then the pipe.

Read the installation instructions for any liner system, and you'll see how it is intended to be installed.

The bottom cones are not particularly advanced, so if you measure the internal diameter of the pipe, you can simply buy a cone for that pipe diameter.

You should also check that the liner pipe is intended for a flue. There are simpler liner pipes for other ventilation.

Use an inmurningstos.

Another thing. Keep in mind that the chimney sweep must be able to remove the soot from the channel. This means you must have a gastight soot hatch that is openable in the flue pipe connected to the collar. The chimney sweep preferably wants to be able to look straight into the flue pipe. In the worst case, he can clean through the stove if the construction is suitable for that.

Thanks for the responses everyone.
The bottenkona (bottom cone) sounds like a smooth solution to the problem, but how do you seal it between the pipes? There isn’t a lot of space to work with.
When I connect the stove, I was thinking of using a 90-degree stovepipe with a hatch.

Now it's been ages since I last installed a chimney liner, but as far as I remember, I smeared a lot of stove putty on the cone and pressed the hose over it. Then I filled the space around the joint with mortar before sealing the work hole.

There is a schematic image of how it should look on Soliduct's website:

and a description of how the work is done:

You might have to do it a bit differently since the pipe is already in place, but the end result should be the same to get the function correct.

What isn't shown there is the actual connection to the fireplace. Below the cone, you create a space in the chimney that is carefully plastered on all surfaces and has an insertion socket at the correct height. If you don't have a cleaning hatch on the external stove pipe as you intended, it's also possible to place a hatch into this space. Common for wood stoves and other types of rear-connected fireplaces.

And don't be tempted to create a large cavity here. It will just become a collection point for a lot of ash due to lower flue gas speed. Keep the diameter in the same size range as the rest of the duct.

An update. Now everything is ready and works as it should.
We added a bottenkona to the insert pipe, then we lowered the hole so it came behind the stove.
