I have a conservatory of 18sqm that I plan to cast a slab for. I now have some questions that I hope to get help with:
Do you need to cast 10cm deep when it's only for a conservatory? (I will also lay heating coils on top)
How much cement compared to gravel and water should I use?

If you don't have access to free energy, you should insulate with 200-300 mm of cellular plastic underneath.
Regarding load, you can manage with a thinner concrete slab.
BUT, you must have reinforcement, floor heating coils, and 3 cm of cover on each side of the reinforcement, meaning 3 cm of concrete outside the reinforcement bars. This is to protect the bars from rust attack with possible cracking concrete afterward. So, in practice, it becomes at least 8 cm thick concrete slab if you want to do it properly.
Then there are tricks to have thinner cover layers (the cover layer required also varies depending on the application, castings that, for example, stand in seawater or pools should have even thicker cover layers).
But with a well-chosen concrete quality, you can have it a bit thinner, I wonder if you can't reduce it if you have a stainless steel reinforcement net.
Finally, one could cheat a little and take a chance that there won't be any problems because it's such a fine and dry environment anyway. But even the humidity in the air penetrates the concrete, so it's not entirely certain.

Question? Why float them on top? Aren't there options to have them directly in the concrete?
I will insulate the slab with foam.

I would also like to know how much concrete I need?
What should one buy? Should one buy concrete and add water or buy cement and add gravel, stone, and water oneself?
