I am thinking of trying to cast a concrete sink.
What material can be used for building the mold? Does something like particle board work? Or does the concrete "stick" to certain materials?

Does anyone have tips on how to handle the drain connection? Can you, for example, attach the metal ring/gasket and plastic pipe and then cast around it? Remove this when it's done, or is there another method?
Should the parts be oiled, use silicone, or maybe plastic?
You can tell I am a beginner, but I would love to give it a try.

The sink should have many right angles, but I am thinking of making a small curve at the drain to create a bit of slope.

Styrofoam and fiberglass + epoxy for the mold and sand it down until it's smooth, then mold oil.

Good luck, I think I'll stick to glazed washbasins and concrete at the base.
What are you going to treat the inside with to keep it clean?
And how did you plan to sand the inside, ABS can't be used.

I must say that it was a detailed description but that the pictures of the final result weren't very nice. Gaps between the sink and the countertop in many pictures, varying surface finish.

If I had seen the pictures, I wouldn't have made any countertop.

There are "pop-up" valves so you just need to get the right size of the hole.
