I have bought Camos decking tool with accompanying screws for my deck project. The tool will leave a gap of 1.6mm on each side, the question is whether that is too little considering the width of the decking boards? What do you think?

I have the same and my gaps close completely in the winter when the deck is saturated with moisture. Some screws have broken, I don't know if it's due to tension or something else.

Which screw did you use? The regular or stainless steel?

If the decking is properly wet when you lay it, it should be fine. Use stainless screws that are tougher.
