Hello!

I've been looking around for various ventilation penetrations, primarily thinking about penetrations under roof tiles.

How tight is sufficiently tight, do you think?

I've looked at Vilpe's (T-embalage) penetration, which seems so-so, am I being too picky?

Attaching images, feel free to let me know what you think.

Thanks.

When it doesn't leak...

Vilpes solution probably works in most cases. But there's nothing stopping you from reinforcing and improving it.

Do you have any tips on how to improve? =)

Best regards

Apply additional sealing on exposed areas, or for example use Wakaflex.

Wakaflex on the roof tiles, I assume?

I'm more worried about the penetration under the roof tiles.

Possibly an extra sleeve, will see if there's anything for about 500kr.

Happy to receive more tips, thank you!!

No, I was thinking of the wakaflex under the tiles. That's where it needs to be tight.

Oh, exactly.

You could actually use cold asphalt too?

I did a little photoshopping, this is what I initially thought. But what you're saying is definitely smart as well, to apply something like wakaflex, if it adheres well to the underlay.

What are you aiming to achieve with C in your image?
B, when executed correctly, will be tight.

Even tighter.

The instructions say to use wood screws, will it be tight then? Isn't it roofing nails that are supposed to be used on the roof?

Hmmm.

Thanks =)

Hey there!
Just slather on some asphalt glue and it's sealed!

You might have missed that TS wants it tighter than tight ;)

I think you are being too picky. The manufacturer has a solution they have tested, and customers use it, so it's unnecessary to do anything more.

Which one of these do you think is best for applying around the edges?
Take the one I showed in #10, and it will be very tight and good!

Then I also need to buy screws, is there any specific screw more suitable for sealing?
The type of screw depends on what needs to be fastened.
And the asphalt glue/putty seals around the screws, you understand?

It's that plastic piece that I posted a picture of above that needs to be screwed. #13
Was more thinking about whether to choose some kind of roofing nail, but it will probably be a regular wood screw as it looks now.

I can't find that asphalt compound anywhere in Stockholm. :(
Going to take either K-36 or mataki asphalt compound should do the trick, seems to be for the same purpose.

What do you think?

Thank you thank you thank you!!
