Hi!

I need to reinforce my joists above the crawl space which are spaced between 800-1100 mm.

The existing old and rock-hard joists are embedded in the inner walls (they are fixed like a rock).
However, they are in good condition. (200x100)

To avoid tearing everything up and creating a new foundation, I was thinking of doing it according to the picture.

Where black is the existing beams and red is new.

Does this work in reality?

The picture in text.

Attach a support beam under the existing floor joists along the outer walls, and place between the beams on this.
I hope you understand what I mean :-)

And if it works, what would you use to attach the support beam to the existing joists???
