Moved into a 1.5-story wooden house in 2017 that was built in 2004 with a crawl space. Now, over the past two months, I've noticed cracks here and there indoors. To my knowledge, none of them were present during the inspection. They are very thin and visible through the gypsum wall and faintly behind painted wallpaper. I've also discovered very small, narrow cracks on the foundation wall in the same section of the house as those indoors on the upper floor. Our spontaneous analysis is that most of the cracks were first noticed in mid-August after two very hot and dry months. They were not present before.

Considering that last winter was extremely cold with a lot of snow (load on the roof?) and that the summer was extremely hot and dry, is it natural for wooden materials to "move," or should I be worried? When should this be looked into more closely?

When you get a fingertip in the gap...
Wood is a living material and plaster/paint is not. The wood moves and expands and contracts. Plaster and paint crack.
