Moldings, etc.

I don't want to renovate and put in moldings that look old, yellow, and dirty! Why can't we just get them white!

Of course, I understand that there are xxxxx number of shades of white... But what's being sold is :x

They're just primed, right? ;)

Buy unpainted and paint yourself? Leave for lacquer?

Yeah that's the only chance it seems like... :@

Completely useless!

It's impossible to paint walls whiter than 0502-y because then the factory-painted moldings look nicotine-stained. You have to do as Noseone suggested and paint them yourself. I haven't calculated the cost, but with all the work, it will definitely be more expensive. At least two coats, maybe three, preferably the last coat in place.

Haven't calculated it, but it's probably not entirely unlikely that unpainted ones become so much cheaper than painted ones that you can justify buying a Bosch PFS 105?

It can always be fun with another gadget :)

S0502-Y is an established standard for woodwork such as windows and doors, and also moldings for these.
Furthermore, it is discussed in this thread and it has emerged that there is a big difference between S0502-y and 0502-y.
0502-y is supposed to be whiter. But the problem with pre-lacquered moldings does not disappear.

Totally worthless!

Exactly! nicotine damaged is what they look like...:@ Had to repaint my "newly bought" moldings yesterday...q(;^;)p
