I have the following construction:
Foundation wall/pile
Light beam 45x220 (cc 600)
Chipboard 22mm
Pillar (95x95 glued timber)
Beam
I have calculated that the pillar should bear a force of 21kN and transfer it onto the light beam below.
The beam rests directly on the foundation wall.
My question is: can the light beam handle the force? Does it need to be reinforced by adding 2 pieces of wood framing in the web?
