Close an opening between two apartments
Hello, we need to fill a doorway in an interior wall. The interior wall previously divided two apartments, and now we are returning to the same situation. So it is about an apartment-separating wall. As far as I know, fire safety and sound insulation are required between the apartments. Do you know how the wall should be constructed? It's common to have two plasterboards on both sides, but I'm unsure about the framework in the middle and if I'm missing anything else important. I appreciate any help I can get! Thank you in advance!
It might be good to delve into the standard of the rest of the building. If it's an older building, it might very well have been built according to lower standards than today's new constructions. There's no reason to have a much higher level of this measure than what exists on the current dividing walls between apartments.Y Yana said:Hello, we need to fill a doorway in an interior wall. Is the interior wall built just as it was before, apart from having opened a new doorway? If so, you should be able to get a good hint about the construction when you remove the door and the frame. You might be able to tear down a bit more around it to investigate and then just maintain that level in the reconstruction.
