Clay plastering on a 60s house (ytong)

Hi!

I'm wondering if anyone has tried clay plastering a house with Ytong/lightweight concrete blocks? We actually plan to add insulation and got quotes for this with new plastering. It was crazy expensive, probably even more so this year. So I'm considering if there is a method one could do themselves, as clay plastering came up as an interesting and more environmentally friendly alternative. But the big question is how and if it works? Give me all your experiences with clay plastering other house constructions than wood!

Indoors I would say go for it, it works. Scratch a little in the lightweight concrete so that the clay has a slightly rough surface to adhere to. I know others who have clay plastered lightweight concrete houses with good results. Outdoors it also works but is more sensitive and will need to be repaired at regular intervals.
