We have an indoor concrete staircase that I'm considering covering with wood. Are there any drawbacks or risks involved in doing so? A carpenter I contacted claims that there is a risk of the steps cracking as they shift with the seasons and moisture coming from below. Meanwhile, other companies don't mention anything like that.
