I have just sanded off all the paint from the basement's outer walls (inside) to make them vapor permeable.
Now it needs to be plastered before painting with silicate paint or lime paint.
I have sanded all the way down to the concrete blocks (hollow concrete blocks) but there is a thin layer of plaster left on them, I suspect it's lime plaster (the house was built in 1961).
From what I understand, the choice is between "Puts & Murbruk C" or Hydraulic lime plaster.
Which is preferable for my purpose?
I plan to mesh the walls first so the plaster doesn't crack, am I right that plastic mesh is the way to go, or should I use steel mesh?
