We have just started tearing down for a new kitchen, but I am a bit puzzled about how to handle the floor to achieve an acceptable level difference between the kitchen and the living room that are adjacent to each other.

In the living room, we have laid 25mm pine flooring on the subflooring that rests on a concrete slab.

In the kitchen, which is about 20m2, we want underfloor heating with 17mm tubing and tiles (10mm).

How should I proceed to avoid a very large level difference between the living room and the kitchen, but also have a stable foundation for the tiles?
See the attached drawing.

I suspect that I need to tear up the subflooring and joists and rethink, suggestions are welcome.

Best regards, Ghia01

Does anyone have any tips?
