I'm planning to build an interior wall to divide our large basement. What I'm considering is which material to use for the sill plate.
It's a deep but nice basement without any musty smell and with good ventilation via the FTX system. There are marble floors (!) throughout the basement.
The plan is to use some tape or adhesive to avoid drilling into the marble. The question, however, is whether a wooden sill plate will work or if it's completely inadvisable. What do you think? The wall will be about 20 cm thick, so I was thinking of laying a 195mm sill.
