I am planning to install some type of board as a wind barrier on our house, which will soon begin construction. The facade is just over 200 sqm. Since I'm doing most of the work myself, I'm looking for a material that can withstand the weather for a while before the paneling goes up. I have discussed the following three options with building supply stores:
Asphalt board is the cheapest, about 10000 SEK. But I don't like working with them. I've gotten the impression they are bad from an environmental standpoint because they are treated with oil.
Outdoor gypsum board, about 20000 SEK. I think they won't last very long without a covering panel.
Windstopper, about 30000 SEK. The most expensive, but I can't find any other disadvantages.
Does anyone have experience with windstopper? Are there any drawbacks that I have missed?
