We have vaulted ceilings on the upper floor and are planning to install a white panel on the ceiling. The question is what type of panel should be used? The images I have seen show that most panels are slightly narrower, which looks quite good.

It would be nice if it's white so we don't have to paint.

It is of course a matter of taste. We also have vaulted ceilings on the upper floor, and I have installed the Siljans spring panel. Tongue and groove panel that gives a 3mm gap when installed. I believe it is 120mm wide. Sloped ceiling with tongue and groove paneling, showing a 3mm gap, in a room with hardwood flooring and a wall-mounted light fixture.

  • Attic room with sloped ceiling, white paneling, wooden floor, and beige walls. Ceiling light fixture visible; electrical outlet on wall.
We bought white track panel from Beijers, raw, but painted it on site to hide nails (where I couldn't manage to hide them in the tongue and groove) and because the quality was very varied, did a bit of spackling.
Then painted on site.

This removed all blemishes and the color became even/homogeneous.

We have installed Södra Interiör's white-waxed and finely sawn panel in a room with a vaulted ceiling, no chamfering. They are mounted "vertically," meaning from the ridge downwards. Item number 8676.
Originally, we planned to have them horizontal but received advice to install them "vertically" to enhance the effect of the vaulted ceiling. The feeling is that it appears taller than if you install them horizontally. The same effect as with clothes, wallpaper, etc., where the stripes affect the appearance for the eye.

Had planned to have them horizontal but got the tip to set them "standing" to get a greater effect of the vaulted ceiling, the feeling is that it seems higher than if you set them horizontal. Thanks for the tips so far.

Do you have a picture of your standing panel to send me?
