Hello!

I have removed part of the ceiling to run some pipes to the new bathroom. When I want to restore it, I realize that the dimension is no longer available, at least I haven't been able to find it.

The house was built in 1978 and I suspect the wood has shrunk a bit, hence the current measurements. I guess it was originally 21x95, now it's 20x90. Or perhaps this dimension simply existed on the shelf at that time.

Would be nice to have some tips on how to solve this, I guess I need to find a carpentry shop that can mill the current dimension. However, it's only about 10-15 boards.

  • Wooden ceiling panels with narrow slats, showing slight gaps; renovation project concerns dimensions for bathroom plumbing work.
  • Drawing of a wooden board cross-section with measurements: 20mm thick, 90mm wide, and a groove margin of 7.5mm, placed in front of an actual wood piece.
95:s are likely on the shelf today, would you really notice a difference of a few Mm when the roof looks like that from the start with some varying gaps, etc.? :) otherwise, you'll probably have to cut it yourself :)

I forgot to mention that I am in Täby, so any tips on carpentry or similar that can solve the task should be in this part of the country :-)

Can't find a 95 that's double-sided in this way, the part of the board that's visible is 7.5mm. But maybe I'm thinking wrong..

You continue with 21 x 95 and no one will see the difference once you've painted the ceiling. If you have opened the panel in the middle of the ceiling, you might need to modify one or two panel boards so they fit in.
White ceiling paneling with spotlight above framed bird prints on wood-paneled wall. White paneled ceiling with grooves, possibly using 21 x 95 panels. The ceiling may require painted touch-ups or modifications for proper fitting.

Thank you for the response Bengt, I might be bad at searching, or maybe I'm a bit dumb ;-) If I take regular raw boards, the tongue and groove are the same length so there will be no gaps between the boards, where do you find the boards you show in your picture? They should also be double beveled, just like in your picture.
