Ceiling moulding construction

I will in the laundry room create some sort of ceiling molding/box to hide pipes and electrical wires.
I was thinking of making something out of MDF or similar, in an angle, but how should I attach it in a smart way so it can easily be taken down if one needs to inspect the pipes?

Make it out of sheet metal? just attach a rule on the roof and one on the wall, so you can easily screw into them, mdf/wood works well too, maybe a bit nicer as well.
